Hi Pierre, I just now found your message. I hope you are doing better now. What ever helps you do it. I know where I can go and where I can't. I have not seen some of my friend's that smoke since I quit Jan 7th. I for one can't be around where there is smoking going on, I would probably ask for a cig. But I think I have gotten past that stage. But you always have to have a plan, because the urge can happen in a heartbeat. I find when I am driving I want a cig. so I have put toothpicks in the can and I chew on it. May not look to pleasent but who cares. Let us know how you are doing? :) Sunshine My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/7/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 48 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 827 Amount Saved: $168 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 0 Mins: 8 Seconds: 11

One more thing.. Pamper yourself.. this is one of the hardest periods of your life.. When I first quit, I actually laid around and took it nothing but easy. I drank lots of hot tea and water and ate better than usual. It is the weekend and maybe you can get some rest. Quitting can make you more tired than usual too. Act like you are in rehab.. because you are !! Hang Tuff you can do this !! Hey Pierre ! Everyone is right.. the first 3-4 days are really the hardest.. and you are almost through it !! In other words.. you are doing it and the worse is almost done. As long as the candies and seeds carry you through the first week.. then you will need them less. I will tell you that they got me through.. and now.. sometimes I crave them.. but not the smokes. Hang Tuff !! I even had to start shopping at another grocery store because the trigger to buy my ciggies at the checkout was more than I could handle! Check-Out = Ciggies.............some things U just can't unlearn..........have to avoid them altogether!!! Pace yourself like others said...........PAT My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/2/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 54 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 815 Amount Saved: $216 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 2 Mins: 33 Seconds: 58

Hi Pierre. I have heard of others who have done just that. Go to bed and pull the covers over your head. Whatever it takes to get you through the hard spots is A.O.K. Keep Strong. redrosie Let us know how you feel later. Hi pierre, If possible you also might try going out to places where you've NEVER smoked. Movie theatre, mall, library, etc. can be a nice break from triggers. Hang tough it get much better.
