Its odd how cravings like that just hit sometimes.  I have been like that recently and I am just trying to push through.  I love the "walking the dog" obligation.  I will try to remind myself of that as well.  Thanks.

What a fantastic analogy.  Glad you got through the craving, funny how they come out of nowhere!

I got to clever and didn't explain myself well. I was thinking of smoking as the same as walking the dog. That the first cigarette might be enjoyable, but each cigarette after that would be an obligation. So it would get to the point where I would have to walk the dog.

Good for you for beating this huge craving Brenda!   Very proud of you!

Yes, you will have to walk the dog but you don't want to be ruining a healthy walk with a terrible cigarette.  You will also not want to expose your poor new dog to second hand smoke. Also, with a dog you will have to carry a leash , a little baggy and maybe some water, a ball, who knows what else; you will not want to have to worry about a pack of smokes and a lighter as well.  Plus some dogs eat everything! You will not want to have to worry about them consuming your old butts.  The point I am trying to make is getting a dog is a great idea but getting a dog being smoke free is much better! Don't you think?  How else is being smoke free with a dog better?
