Thanks everyone! When the clock hit 3 am, we went and opened a special bottle of pink bubbly to celebrate. Needless to say that is why it took until 9:30 pm to get online, what a celebration we had last night!! Another reason I'm glad I quit smoking - they usually really tasted crap after a good session the night before!

Ed - so true, this is like my special New Year's present, it's as important if not more than the turning over of the year.

Ashley I mainly quit due to my desire to have children which is one motivation to stay quit. But my main 'stay quit' motivation has been the recovery of my lungs, the ability to go up stairs and breathe better. I used to be clearing my throat all the time and after a while I realised it must be really irritating to people around me to hear that all day. The encouragement of folks here of course plays a huge part as well, so once again thank you thank you thank you SSC friends!!

... and celebrate you must! Our quit date becomes all the more significant once that first year has passed. To me, it is as important a date in the calendar as my birtthday. And to 'younger' quitters, that first week, first month, 100 days, 6 months should be fully celebrated as well!
