Ruby, That is fantastic. Seems like this a helpful way for you to distract yourself. Keep it up! Make sure you keep a diary so you can see your progress or go back and possible see what may have caused the attack to begin with. please keep posting with updates and how you are doing. Keep Strong, Josie ______________________________ The Panic Center Support Team.

Hi Everyone, Last night I didn't get to bed till late, as I was doing housework. Early this morning I woke up, and when I woke up I had an anxiety attack, It was horrible, a scale out of 10 it would have been a 9, I nearly went and woke my boyfriend up because I thought I'd have to go to the hospital, I got up because I needed to get a tablet (valium) out of my bag just so I could calm down, but I put the bag on my kitchen table, then I reached in to get the tablet, so I grabed the tablet and then I was holding it in my hand, then I stopped, I stood there and thought about a section in a book I'am reading at the moment, it says the key to anxiety is DIVERSION, so I thought I'll try this, I didn't take the tablet, I put it down the sink, my anxiety was still there, but then I laid down and started to count down from 100, and so on, after a while I could feel a difference my anxiety went from a 9 to a 3, even though it didn't go all the way down, I was happy because I didn't need to take a valium to calm down. So by diverting my mind when I was having an attack on to something else, it made a difference, it worked, so I'am going to keep trying this every time I have one.. hopefully this will work all the time, I'am crossing my fingers..... :p
