MomMom, I somehow missed this until now! Thoughts are pesky aren't they? You are doing great in recognizing what they are and finding ways to cope. I think this is the part of our quits where staying vigilant is important. Keep smacking the tar out of those thoughts and move forward. Eventually the thoughts will rarely bother us anymore. I do not allow myself to dwell on them...I think it's important for me and I do acknowledge them, especially when they come out of the blue or are really strong...wave them away in a positive way as just thoughts and get on with my day (I say or think things like yes, I would have had a cigarette after this news when I was a smoker, but thank goodness I don't have to waste my health, time and money on that anymore). Last night on my way home someone lit up at the bus stop. I watched them take a drag off the cig and suddenly I realized something. I felt nothing. I did not want that cig. I did not hate that cig. It was just a cig. I was thankful I didn't have to smoke it but that was all. Then I realized I had seen people smoking all day and hadn't even thought about it. I smiled. I felt free. Then I looked up in the sky and saw birds flying. I felt like one of them, free to choose where to go next without cigarettes being a factor. It's official for me...and I hope soon for you...the thoughts will lessen and eventually, seldom bother us at all. (((magic huggs))) :) Pat My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/28/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 85 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,415 Amount Saved: $1190 Life Gained: Days: 9 Hrs: 23 Mins: 11 Seconds: 37

Hi MomMom. I hope those down feelings and cravings have passed by now. I'm proud of you for recognizing the junkie thought and rejecting it. What happened to you is behind my reasoning for staying close to this site and checking in frequently. It's been pretty easy for me this time and I worry that if I'm not on top of things, one of those days will hit me and throw me for a loop. And I have no intention of getting off track... Anyway, 2 months is great. Great day to take a walk in one of those boas don't ya think? LOL. Just not the gold one - that's currently being held in a special investigation on "the beach", though I believe the owner has been falsely accused! :gasp: Enjoy the beautiful weather. - Freemom My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/29/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 24 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 296 Amount Saved: $97.92 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 6 Mins: 43 Seconds: 17

Hi MomMom! Hang in there. Everybody says it gets better and better, and we both have enough experience to know that it's true. It's a long, long sickness we're getting over, give yourself some time and put some calamine lotion on that skeeter bite. Hey Nance, I've definitely been where you are. It hit me too around the 60 day mark...then the 90! All is good now though. The good news is...it doesn't last. I know its miserable and annoying at the time. I've learned to ride these times out with a lot of help from everyone here, and by being good to myself. No undue pressure, lots of CSI...actually just lots and lots of things I like! Within a few days, its gone. We'll ride these times out with out Nance. Hi MomMom, I know how you feel. I've hit that 60 day slump too and have had more thoughts of smoking. Of course, I won't smoke and those thoughts aren't anything I can't handle but it's like you said, "They ARE annoying." Geesh, I get really tired of those bumps in the road. Stay Strong, Tutti My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/18/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 61 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,788 Amount Saved: $218.99 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 13 Mins: 27 Seconds: 47

I went through that between 90-105 days. In fact, I just finished a stage I didn't like. During that time, I wasn't craving as much as I was questioning, thinking and dreaming about smoking. I smoked every night in my dreams! All I can say is it will pass, I don't know how or when, but it will pass... maybe on Tuesday. MomMom, Sorry to hear you've hit the 60 day bump. Sounds like you're doing okay. If you feel the need, get back to basics and take out those strategies because you are very right, this too shall pass. Danielle ____________________ The SSC Support Team

Thank you my friends. It really isn't that bad at all, but after having no thoughts of smoking for what seems like a long time, having any thoughts at all was a surprise. I'm no dope, I won't smoke.
