Panic attacks again.

Oh matt, I understand how this news can add stress to your life. It's natural that the news will initially create added anxiety. There's not much you can do about it though, other than monitor things and live your life to the fullest. If they expect it to be slow-growing and want pictures every six months, that should help you relax a little. A friend of mine went through this four years ago and it was resolved very successfully. Yours can be as well. Try not to indulge in 'what if' scenarios that cripple your life, ok? Give yourself permission to be positive about its outcome. Keep posting. -- Anne-Marie, Site Administrator

I learned last week that I have a small brain tumor and my anxiety has been sky high since. I'm having panic attacks daily. Sometimes I take extra xanax to calm down. I've worked real hard to reduce my dependence on xanax for the past 8 years and got down to .75mg per day but now I need 1-1.25 mg on top of 25mg of Paxil. (at one time I was on 12 mg/day of xanax) My Dr. doesn't yet know if my tumor is going to cause problems or not. He said if it doesn't grow any then I should be OK but if it does grow then they will have to remove it. I have to have MRIs every 6 months to watch it for growth. I think if I knew more about this tumor I might be able to calm down. My endocrinologist that found the tumor wasn't very good at explaining what was going on.
