Nancy, You can expect to feel nicotine withdrawal symptoms after you quit smoking. However, they usually improve after the first three or four days, depending on your level of nicotine addiction. Each smoker has different withdrawal symptoms - yours will be unique. Although they may be unpleasant, they do pass. When you experience withdrawal symptoms, remind yourself that each symptom is a sign of recovery - your body is in the process of healing itself. Think of withdrawal symptoms as growing pains. If you have a symptom that persists or seems worse than you expected, you should immediately consult a doctor. Its possible that your smoking has been masking symptoms of some illness, and when you stop smoking the symptoms abruptly become noticeable. Remember, your body is going through a lot of changes, everything is starting to balance out. It may take sometime before things get back to 'normal'. I just quit this past Friday (the 17th). The thing is, since I've quit, I've been a lot colder than usual. Now, I'm used to being cold all the time, but not this cold! Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes I have been complaining of being much colder than usual and didn't consider it might be my quit (even through the time frame's the same) until I read your post. Maybe there is something in it - I just thought winter was going on longer than usual and colder - I'm even cold with the heating turned up in the house...innit grim?!! But so glad I'm not smoking!! hi cem, I got colder also. Smoking generally increases your blood pressure. When your blood pressure is up, you feel warmer. Sooooo....when you quit smoking, blood pressure goes down....you feel colder. Definately though...if it bothers you, go see the doc, okay? Congrats on 4 days...you're doing great! :) ~lbugg~ My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/17/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 341 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 18,097 Amount Saved: $2250.6 Life Gained: Days: 33 Hrs: 6 Mins: 18 Seconds: 20
