Thank you guys again!! In response to redrosie.... I do think of cigarettes every now and then. It is nothing like the way they consumed my every thought in the beginning of my quit. I also quickly think of how nasty and disgusting they have become to me. [b]I WILL NEVER SMOKE AGAIN![/b] Melissa

I love myself today! I am smoke free for one full year. I have taken back control of my life, my breath! My pride is really showing here. Stopping smoking was indeed one of the hardest things I have ever had to do in my life, but to be able to say I stopped smoking is one of the most rewarding things for me. I was smoking over 2 packs per day and had smoked for 27 years. If I can quit, anyone can. It took many tries and alot of hard work and determination. Many times I did not think I was going to make it. The beginning was extremely hard, but I knew I had lots of help from here and from home. I know I did not post often. I was here. I was a taker. I took words of advice but sincerely thought I was having such a rough time that anything I said would only discourage others not to try. I remember someone suggesting that I put a half broken straw in my mouth as a cigarette. I loved that straw to pieces, literally. When you are sincere about your quit, anything is worth a try. What works for some, may not work for others and reverse. Everyone here is so kind and they really do care. I thank you all! I can never ever thank you enough! I came here many times with all tears in my eyes while typing out my heart. My husband quit with me for over 9 months, but unfortunately, he gave in to the nicodemon and has started back. He was truely one puff away from a pack a day as I believe we all are. He coughs, he smells, etc. I feel sorry for him. My son inspired me also. I am proud of giving him a smoke free Mom. He begged me to quit for a very long time. I know he shared in my struggle. I have high hopes that because he saw my struggle and the many things smoking can do, that HE WILL NEVER PICK UP A CIGARETTE AS LONG AS HE LIVES. That would be my ultimate reward.
