Hot water with lots of salt ... swish swish swish ... the salt burns like you know what ... but helps to dry the sore out in my opinion. Then I put Campo-Phenique on the sores after swishing with the salt water, which tastes nasty for a few seconds, but numbs the sore for quite a long time and heal the sore up. I don't like suffering pain for long periods of time. I found that while the above way of treating my canker sores made them go away a lot faster than any other type of treatment.

jol, A small number of smoker's experience mouth irritations when they cut down or quit smoking. The cause is related to chemical adjustments that are taking place in your mouth. For years your mouth has had to withstand repeated assaults with hot cigarette smoke. Your tissues are adjusting and healing. How long will this last? The first few weeks after quitting. Tips to help: Use topical treatment for mouth sores. If you experience sores for longer than a few weeks, consult your doctor. If you have a symptom that persists or seems worse than you expected, you should immediately consult a doctor. Its possible that your smoking has been masking symptoms of some illness, and when you stop smoking the symptoms abruptly become noticeable. Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
