Doesn't matter if this is the first time you're fighting the dragon of depression or if it's been a lifelong battle, it's still a tough thing to do.
I'm sure you'll find lots of info and support here. This place is truly the best "depression" forum I've ever found. Friendly, helpful, understanding ... all the things that help me progress.
I visited my therapist today and it really seemed to help. I finally let everything out that i'd been holding in for years. the rape, alcholic family,drug addicts in the family, ect.i'm going to therapy once a week now for 20 weeks and i have homework each week to help with what we talk about. I also will be joining a support group for women with body image issues. i'm hoping that combined with this site i can get through this. thanks to everyone for your support

Welcome Kyra! I'm still new too but I'm already so glad I joined. I've been battling depression for 20 years in silence and this is the first time I've really asked for help in dealing with it. I find everyone here so understanding with so much experience and advice and support to offer. I'm sure there will be ups and downs, but as we work through the program and stick to our treatments, there will be more ups than downs. And of course we're all here to help you through. :)
