What a great trip....count me in....I debated for a nano-second....should I paint the bathroom/kitchen or go to England......perhaps the break will provide creative inspiration.

Welcome aboard its great to have you. My great grandfather on my fathers side was from Edinburg. I have no memorys of him. St. Andrews sounds beautiful.

Hi Kaiser,

Well your post brought back memories. Mind you half the stuff you spoke of was not around to see when I visited Edinburgh as a child. The tourism industry has come a long way since then. (I was born in Glasgow by the way, and the people of each city are not best of friends with each other! LOL.

My husband and I lived in St. Andrews from 1991 - 1995. It's a really beautiful place, but soooooo cold! We used to walk our dog on the Old Course, and along the beach where they filmed Chariots of Fire. If we had remained in UK in our retirement, St. Andrews would have been our first choice. ( We live in France now....it's warmer!!!) My husband wears the kilt on high days and holidays....do you really have the kilt Rock?!
