I noticed that you said that Metamucil is a laxative. I thought it was something that would help extreme dihorrea (a lady at the chemist told me this!). Does this mean that if someone suffers from really bad dihorrea, most of us here due to panic disorder/anxiety, that the Metamucil is only going to make it worse and not actually help to bulk us up?
I'm really interested in finding out more about this as it is something I have suffered from for AGES!! :confuse:

Metamucil is a bulk fibre laxative that is used to treat occasional constipation and to restore regularity. You should consult your Doctor before taking anything for ulcerative colitis.

I have Ulcerative Colitis - but if you ask me, it's sounds the same as IBS. VERY unpleasant!
Nurseboy, wouldn't Metamucil give you the runs more? Just wondering...I've never taken it myself.

Symptoms of IBS include:
`cramping
`diarrhea
`bloating
`constipation
`abdominal discomfort
Anxiety can cause disturbances in your normal bowel routine. I would recommend that you let your Doctor know about these symptoms.

Hi Everyone!
I have a question..... Does anyone one else here have IBS? (Irritable Bowel Syndrome)
I have been told that IBS is a symptom of Panic Disorder. I have found that this is the hardest symptom to deal with. I believe that this is also a reason why I feel safe in my home, and fear the outside world.
Anyone have any advice on how to keep this symptom in control so I can get on with my life?
