Shaila, You've relapsed, now is the time to learn from it and get back to the quit! If your quit plan wasn't always effective in helping you fight cravings, it's time to review your plan, identify problem areas and modify what wasn't working. What coping mechanisms were you using to help you fight cravings? Gum, walking, posting, mints, deep breathing, water? Were you rewarding yourself frequently? If you have nothing to look forward to, nothing worth more than smoking than what do you have to work towards? What motivates you through those cravings? What had you replaced smoking with? Ex: You use to smoke with your cup of coffee, now you read the paper instead. What changes had you made to your routine? What could you have done differently? I know just what you are feeling. I blew mine Saturday. I set a new quit date and plan on returning soon. If anything keep coming to this site and read and keep in touch. The people here are amazing. Not only do I want to quit for myself, but I have made some wonderful friends here. I never in my wildess dream ever thought that people I do not know personally could become so important to me. Hang tough regroup and come back soon.

Shalia, Don't quit quitting. Get yourself a journal and write about the good and healthful things. Write too about any bad and possibly frustrating/ugly feelings you may be having as well. Write what you have learned so far. Most importantly, in order for us to help - you have to come here and post FIRST before you smoke! Get right back here and get busy quitting, reclaim your life. The mere fact that you posted about your relapse shows something strong about you. It is not easy to admit these things. Yet, in my view you have not failed...rather, found a way that does not work. To not find a good time to restart is where the failure will lie. Do not allow yourself to be pulled back into the control of that nasty monster. Be strong, get mad as Hell about this and you will make it. Congrats' on the first try. Now, the second one could be the charm. Just do it. Hang tough Shaila, you haven't failed until you stop trying to quit. Take your time, reflect on what has happened and come back when YOU (nobody else) are ready. You will be stronger and you will succeed if you really want to. Good Luck Penitent d856
