I just dropped in (it's been awhile) to see whats new etc... I see some well deserved celebrations for 6 months of quitting so I read further and reread the post about second hand smoke and what the real definitions are. I then read with relish the various takes on it and as others have said or intimated it's about opinion, tolerance, and a lot of unsaid things that lead us all to our various conclusions about what we will or will not tolerate. If someone has a shaky marriage or relationship and they have recently become a non smoker it might be real easy to split up from that other person if they are a smoker. On the other hand anyone that is truly in love doe's not leave the other person for this. One simply doe's what is tolerable for them. Dictates of any-kind be they political, relegious, or psychoanalytic in nature turn me off. I don't need to be told the way by a catholic, protestant, baptist, new age, republican, democrat, non drinker, or nonsmoker. I can figure it out for myself. In the meantime it will be the big six months for me also on the 25th. I would like to add that my daughter has also quit and it's been a month. She did it with a patch for about a week then it's been totally on her own. I sent her a couple of messages from this site, but she's elected to go it on her own. One more family member has come over to my side. There's still a few to go. She did it all on her own without any words or bribing from me and that's the way it has to be. Thanks for letting me ramble this morning. Congratulations to all of you that are quit whether it be six hours six days six weeks or six months. A quit is a quit.
