Thanks for the wonderful response. So true about going through hard times and quitting. Both of my parents, a brother in law and sister in law all died within the first year of my quit. But I have come to realize that no matter when you quit, ''bad things happen'' and smoking won't undo the pain. In other words, its no excuse to start to smoke again. A valuable lesson. Mc, it took me more then a year to realize that it can happen!! Hang in there and the days add up!!! Tough love works for some, I am one of them. Thank you Lizzie, no trips planned for now. All that flying back and forth to the States for funerals, killed my budget (and state of mind may I add) BTW, I hope year number three will totally knock out those cravings I still have from time to time. Shalom Fellow Quitters, In a week or so I will be reaching my second anniversary and I wanted to stop by and say thanks. I couldn't have made it this far without the never ending support I have received from all of you, especially Melanie and Katy. It has been one hell of a journey and I know that the nicotine demon will try its best to ''catch'' me off guard in the years to come but I think I have weathered the worst of it. I must say that I still find it amazing the way nicotine can change your life both physically and mentally. How quitting, especially after 35 years of smoking like myself, can open up an entirely new way of looking at yourself and the way you can live your life because you are no longer tied down looking for a place to light up. For all you newbies out there, STICK WITH IT!!! Believe me when I say, if I can do it, anyone can!!!!!! Thanks again to SSC IDFMOM1 (AKA Iris) P.S. Hi Penti.
