missyfit, I too am very sorry to hear about your friend and her recent loss. On a somewhat more positive note, I am very familiar with Hospice and they are a wonderful, caring and supportive organization that will take excellent care of your friend. I will say a prayer for your friend and her family. Hey Missy, Good to see you! That was a great post! I'm sorry about your friend. That must be very rough for her and her friends and family. It sounds like your friend really does have a good, winning attitude... I can imagine that that's not easy. Welcome back. It's good to see you. Crave the Quit! Hi Missyfit, We have been thinking of you to. Thought something had happed keeping you occupied. So deeply sorry for your friend. Wow, a very powerful story. So much to learn from your friend and her family in regards to strenght. You made a lot of good points in how we might complain, yet someone else would take our comlpaints in a heatbeat, becuse they have it so bad. Thank you Missyfit, I do hope strenght finds you too my Unsmokeable buddie. Just know we are all here ready to hold your hand too. I've been off the site for a little while...and WOW...Welcome to all the new ex-smokers! How awesome it is to see so many with the same goal. With this many helping each other it's bound to be a great year for success! I've been helping a friend and her family lately. This friend lost her daughter in a tragic accident just 18 months ago then just a few months later, she was diagnosed with colon cancer. She's fought a hard battle. Recently, Hospice was called in to assist. Her exhausted husband holds her hand in silence and cherishes every moment with her that he can. Forever gone are the days that I can ask "How are you doing?" because I already know the answer. Instead I ask, "Did you have a good day today?". This once healthy and vibrant 48 year old woman answers with a smile and says "Whether it's good or whether it's bad, it's gonna be alright". What does this have to do with stopping a smoking addiction? It's not to make you feel badly or to try and scare you into keeping your quit. I tell you this so we can learn something from her. If she can get through these days with that kind of attitude, surely we can apply that same attitude to our quits. How can we complain that it's "too much" when there's someone out there that would gladly live a million of your withdrawal symptoms every day to have her daughter back or to live but only a day more with her husband. What will you endure withdrawals for? Life? The next time you feel withdrawal...just remember...Withdrawals last only minutes... "Whether it's good or whether it's bad, it's gonna be alright". Get through those withdrawals and know how fortunate you are to feel every one of them. Feel fortunate in knowing that they'll pass. Thank your lucky stars that you're able to cut the risks of your life ending too soon. The choice is yours. Aren't you glad you have one? On a lighter note... {{{{Unsmokeables}}}}...I missed our 11th month celebration but I thought of you...Congratulations! I can't wait for the 1st year celebration! Stay strong, folks! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/2/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 354 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,098 Amount Saved: $1263.78 Life Gained: Days: 37 Hrs: 13 Mins: 52 Seconds: 15
